Archaeological Park of the Campi Flegrei - Baia Castle

Wide campaign of geological, structural, archaeological investigations with the characterization of the physical-chemical aspects of the materials, preparatory to the project to complete the restoration and enhancement of the "Knight" pavilion of the Aragonese Castle of Baia (Bacoli, Na), a historic monumental complex overlooking the Gulf of Pozzuoli, chosen as the seat of the Archaeological Museum of the Campi Flegrei. These investigations have made it possible to obtain a series of cognitive data and technical information indispensable for the ongoing design assessments, and they consisted in: numerous stratigraphic carotages F = 100 mm for diagnostic purposes, with a horizontal, inclined and vertical trend, on the vertical walls and on horizontals of the monumental complex, site test on the samples of mortar and sample of masonry. mechanical characterization in the laboratory, endoscopic investigations, essays and excavations. As regards geological investigations, however, they consist of 2 geotechnical surveys, 2 penetrometric continuous dynamic tests, 2 masw and in a relief with GPR technique.
