UNIVERSITY OF NAPLES "FEDERICO" - UNIVERSITY COMPLEX OF VIA CLAUDIO

p align = "justify"> As part of the extremely urgent activities resulting from some instability phenomena that have occurred in building 12 of the Federico II University Complex in via Claudio, in Naples (quart. Fuorigrotta), home of the "two-year period" of the Neapolitan School of Engineering, geotechnical investigations and a structural monitoring activity were carried out. The geotechnical surveys, consisting of continuous core drilling with attached SPT tests and taking undisturbed samples, and continuous dynamic penetrometric tests, both inside the structure (DPM technique) and outside (DPSH technique), they had the purpose of determining the causes of the structural damage suffered by the building. At the same time, a structural monitoring activity, of the altimetric type, was prepared in order to verify the possible evolution of these instability phenomena.
