PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATIONS FOR SECURING WORKS OF A VORAGE - NAPLES

Execution of a series of preliminary investigations in preparation for the safety works of a chasm created near via Foria, in Naples, precisely in vico Annibale De Gasperis, right at the entrance of the Istituto Comprensivo Volino Croce Arcoleo. The investigations had the aim, first of all, of determining the causes of the instability, in particular an attempt was made to identify a possible underground cavity below the abyss, in consideration of the fact that the presence of a well barrel emerged in the area . Specifically, the investigations performed consisted of 2D and 3D geoelectric tomography, video camera inspections, dynamic penetration tests, direct inspection by a speleologist, geotechnical surveys and continuous core drilling.
