LOAD TESTS AND INQUIRIES STRUCTURAL - THREE YEARS OF SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING POLYTECHNIC

Structural investigation campaign relating to the verification of the breaking through of the floors of the building in Piazzale Tecchio, home of the three-year period of the Engineering Department. The activities carried out were divided into structural investigations (load tests on the floor, Sonreb tests, core drilling and microdurometer tests) and non-structural ones; the latter, specifically, consisted of visual inspections of any false ceilings and structures in order to verify the condition of the elements under investigation, direct tests on elements making up the floors (joists), to view the reinforcement present and verify any oxidation phenomena in progress, expeditious surveys by means of covermeter for the relief of the warping of the floors, instrumental investigations by stressing the floor and analysis of the consequent sound emissions, aimed at identifying possible phenomena of detachment, both of the plaster and of the part inferior of the piñatas, i.e. the so-called sfondellamento sunroofs.
