GEOGNOSTIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS AT THE FORMER “CAVA ALMA” LANDFILL – VILLARICCA – NAPLES

Following a tender procedure through the MEPA, the municipality of Villaricca entrusted Geotec Srl with the execution of the geognostic and environmental investigations planned at the former landfill located in the Villaricca estate, in the Scalzapecora area (NA). This is the contract awarded for the first of the two lots into which a larger intervention was divided for "Making the contaminated orphan site called Cava Alma safe", financed by the Campania Region - General Directorate for Soil and Ecosystem Protection with funds from the FSC 2014/2020 - Development Pact for Campania - Regional Reclamation Plan (PRB), of which the local authority is the beneficiary. The investigations covered by this assignment involved the execution of a specific investigation plan, designed by GIA Consulting S.r.l., for the verification and evaluation of the current state of the environmental matrices; necessary investigations, as mentioned, for the safety and subsequent reclamation of the site. In particular, the plan is aimed at acquiring all the information necessary for the environmental characterization of the site and the subsequent formulation of the conceptual model, i.e. the evaluation of the extent of the contamination phenomena on the soil, subsoil (land and waste) and groundwater matrices. In detail, 7 geoelectrical surveys, 2 seismic refraction surveys, a magnetometric survey, 10 geognostic surveys and 4 deep piezometers were carried out.
