VERIFICATION OF SEISMIC RISK, REDUCTION OF VULNERABILITIES, RESTORATION OF THE FLAVIAN AMPHITHEATER (COLOSSEUM) – ROME

For the "Verification of seismic risk and reduction of vulnerabilities - restoration" of the Flavian Amphitheater in Rome, better known as the "Colosseum", the execution of a series of essentially non-destructive structural investigations, supplementary to diagnostic tests and checks, consisting, specifically, in sonic tests for the characterization of different types of wall panels of
interest, through measurements of the speed of propagation of wave trains in several points, GPR surveys for structural diagnostic and cognitive purposes, for the verification of two wall facings of design interest, stress release tests on travertine columns, for the determination of the state of internal stress of the two structural elements investigated, endoscopic tests and tests with flat jacks.
